Q. What is the Dixon Technique?

A. The Dixon Technique replaces discouragement with confidence. It is a new method of putting color into the skin at the same depth at the same time. The result, as you can see, is amazing color that is even, not "blotchy" (lips). Smudgy eyeliner takes minutes as does medium thick or very think eyeliner. Plus you can achieve realistic brow hairs so real you'll try to "pluck" them. And areolas are a dream.

Q. Do I need special equipment?

A. No. All you need is training and the unique needles and tips that fit almost every machine.

Q Can I use my digital machine?

A. Yes. Special cartridges have been designed and manufactured for the Harmonix or Blue Cosmetics digital handpieces (black cartridge only). If you have a different digital machine, please call. You may wish to exchange your handpiece at no cost.

Q. Is the Dixon Technique helpful for most of my procedures?

A. Yes. You'll enjoy the technique for lips, breasts, camouflage, eyebrows, thick or smudgy eyeliner. For eyelash enhancement or fine eyeliner you may be more comfortable with your standard approach at first.

Q. How can I get the best possible results with the Dixon Technique?

A. Use the best needles and tips or cartridges. Also, Kolorsource pigments give dramatically beautiful results. Since lips are usually our most challenging procedure we recommend you use Kolorsource™. However, you may use the Dixon Technique with all your favorite colors.

*Note: Pigments by other manufacturers may contain ink or too much water or alcohol. Do not use these pigments.

Q. How does the Dixon Technique work?

A. The Dixon Technique combines the best of both worlds according to those who use both a handtool and a machine. Much faster and gentler than a handtool or a machine that uses traditional needles! Think of it as a gentle handtool needle in a machine. It does not make either the handtool or the traditional methods obsolete as they are helpful on occasion.
